#AllCACounts in Health & Higher Education: Created and led a diverse coalition to implement a campaign strategy to advance Assembly Bill 1726 through the California State Legislature. AB 1726 was signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown and requires the Department of Public Health to collect and report data on additional Asian American and Pacific Islander subgroups. Through additional efforts of the coalition, the California State University and University of California also agreed to report their disaggregated student data.
Healthy Partners Program: Organized the BHC Sacramento Health Access Action Team and won a campaign to allocate County funding to create a healthcare program for undocumented residents. The Healthy Partners Program was established through community advocacy led by the Health Access Action Team members utilizing resident engagement trainings, media strategies and cultivating relationships with decision-makers and other stakeholders.
